might是may的过去式吗

是的，may的过去式和过去分词都是might。但若是在虚拟语气中，不这样认为，只是might比may的语气更委婉而已。若用于对过去事情的推测，则表示might比may的肯定程度更弱。

may的用法

1、表示可能性（to talk about a possible situation），如：

Those reports may prove to be false.

The chorus may look silly, but they sound wonderful.

2、表示请求许可（to politely give or ask for permission to do something），如：

May we come in?

That's all for now, you may go.

3、表达祝愿或希望（to express a wish or hope），如：
