would rather 意思是“宁愿、宁可”， 用来表达说话人现在或将来的选择偏好。相当于情态动词， 后跟省略to的动词不定式（动词原形）,常常省略为“'d rather”:
would rather的三种用法
would rather的用法：would rather意思是“宁愿、宁可、更、最好、还是为好”,后接动词原形,常省略为’d rather,表示优先选择的一种方式，其否定形式是would rather not do sth.would rather没有人称和数的变化。
1.在两者中取舍,表“宁愿……而不愿……/与其……宁可……”时，则可用would rather…than…或would…rather than…句型。
2.也可以颠倒为：rather than…would…
3.Would(rather)和than后都接不带to的动词不定式，若选同一动词,那么than后的动词可以省略。

would rather虚拟语气
1.从句中谓语动词用一般过去式， 表示现在或将来的愿望。
例句：I would rather you posted the letter right now.我想让你现在就把信寄出去。
2.从句中谓语动词用过去完成式，表示对过去的愿望。
例句：I would rather you hadn’t said it. 我真希望你没有这样说过。
3.若语境明确，有时从句的谓语有时可以省略与前面相同的部分。
例句：You always go without me and l’d rather you didn’t. 你总是不带我去，我可不愿意你这样。
