people既是可数名词也是不可数名词,主要是根据翻译进行区分。把people看作是集合名词人民、人类的时候,它抽象概念是不可数名词,但是当people在句子中翻译为部落国家,民族的时候,可以看做是一个可数名词。people与定冠词the连用时,其含义为“人民(群众)”,指一个国家的或全世界的人民或者与统治阶级相对的“人民”,没有复数形式。

Person:人;身体;容貌,外表;人称,该词是man, woman或child的总称。
